US President Donald Trump does not agree that he is delaying the introduction of tough sanctions against Russia. According to the head of the White House, he has not yet completed either the second or the third phases, Trump said during a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki.

A Polish reporter asked Trump why he had repeatedly expressed disappointment with Russian President Vladimir Putin but had taken no action.

"How do you know there's no action? Uh would you say that uh putting secondary sanctions on India, the largest purchaser outside of China, they're almost equal, uh would you say there was no action?" said the US President.

According to him, this is costing Russia hundreds of billions of dollars.

"That cost hundreds of billions of dollars to Russia. You call that no action? And I haven't done phase two yet or phase three. But when you say there's no action, I think you ought to get yourself a new job because if you remember two weeks ago, I did I said if India buys, India's got big problems. And that's what happened. So don't tell me about that," Trump added.

Today, US President Donald Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin must make a decision in the context of the war against Ukraine. If it does not satisfy the United States, there will be consequences.

However, this is far from his first such statement.

Trump has been promising serious consequences for Russia, including strengthening sanctions, for several months. At the same time, the American leader is constantly setting deadlines for Putin to end the war against Ukraine and to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

However, for now Washington has only imposed tariffs against India, which is one of the largest buyers of Russian oil.

Today, September 3, Zelenskyy stated that Trump promised to make a decision regarding sanctions and tariffs against Russia in a few weeks.

According to the Ukrainian President, he will hold a conversation with the American leader to clarify the exact timing.

At the same time, recently US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent admitted that Putin had in a "despicable manner" intensified strikes on peaceful cities of Ukraine. Therefore, sanctions will be discussed in the United States.
