US President Donald Trump promises not to withdraw subsidies from the companies of former Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk, the American leader announced.

"Everyone is stating that I will destroy Elon's companies by taking away some, if not all, of the large scale subsidies he receives from the US Government. This is not so! I want Elon, and all businesses within our Country, to THRIVE, in fact, THRIVE like never before," Trump wrote.

He clarified that the better American businesses do, the better things are for the United States. And that's "good for all of us."

"We are setting records every day, and I want to keep it that way," the president added.

Trump–Musk feud

The conflict between Donald Trump and Elon Musk escalated in late May to early June 2025, when Musk harshly criticized Trump's legislative proposal known as the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Musk called it a "ddisgusting abomination" and accused Trump of driving up government spending and increasing national debt. He went further, claiming the bill would destroy jobs and cause strategic harm to the country.

In response, Trump threatened to strip Musk's companies — Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink, and others — of government subsidies and contracts.

Amid the fallout, Musk resigned from his position as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a role he had been appointed to by Trump.

Just a few weeks ago, the US president even suggested he might consider deporting Musk.
