Trump says he will meet with Zelenskyy soon

US President Donald Trump stated that he could meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as early as this or next week, Sky News reports.
According to Trump, his meeting with Zelenskyy could take place to sign a US-Ukraine agreement on rare earth metals.
As reported by the news agency, Trump stated that the meeting could happen "this week or next week."
"Everyone expressed their goal of seeing the war end, and I emphasized the importance of the vital critical minerals and rare earths deal between the US and Ukraine, which we hope will be signed very soon!" Trump said.
Agreement on rare earth metals
Recently, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent presented a draft agreement on rare earth metals in Kyiv, which envisions the creation of a fund based on revenues from their sale.
The US plans to obtain economic and managerial rights in this fund, considering it as a way for Ukraine to "repay" its military aid, which, under the proposal, could amount to $500 billion — despite the actual value of the aid being around $100 billion.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the US provided grants for assistance to Ukraine and that he does not recognize them as "debts."
Earlier, US officials claimed that Ukraine and the US were supposed to sign an agreement on mineral resources last week. However, according to Sky News, Zelenskyy is not ready to sign the deal with the US due to "problematic issues."
