Trump says he thinks Gaza war ends

US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that the war in the Gaza Strip is over and that the ceasefire agreements between Israel and Hamas will be upheld, according to CNN.
“I think so, I think it’s going to hold. The war is over. The war is over, you understand that?” Trump told reporters.
He added that there are many reasons he believes the agreement will hold, in particular because people are tired of the conflict.
“I think people are tired of it. It’s been centuries, OK, not just recent. It’s been centuries. I think people are tired of it. Yeah, the ceasefire is going to hold,” the US leader said.
In addition, Trump continued to praise Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, noting that he is a wartime leader and has done a “very good job.”
Trump said that he had had some disagreements with him, but they had been quickly resolved. He added that, in his view, he had done a great job and that he thought he had been the right person at that moment, in response to a reporter’s question about whether Netanyahu had made any personal commitments to him regarding the next stage of the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Trump’s visit to the Middle East
On the night of October 13 (Kyiv time), US President Donald Trump had already departed for the Middle East.
It is known that today, Monday the 13th, he will address the Israeli legislative body, the Knesset. The speech is scheduled for 11:00 local time - less than two hours after he arrived in Tel Aviv.
In addition, Trump will visit Egypt to participate in a peace ceremony regarding Gaza.
Earlier this month, the US developed a new plan for a peaceful resolution between Israel and Hamas. The document consists of 20 points.
On October 8, Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had signed the first phase of the peace plan, and by the 10th, a ceasefire between the parties had begun. Israel has already started withdrawing troops, and a prisoner exchange is expected this morning.
