Trump's team expects to secure presidential nomination by March - Reuters
The team of former U.S. President Donald Trump is anticipating that he could officially secure the nomination as the Republican Party's presidential candidate by March 19, according to Reuters.
A high-ranking representative of Trump's campaign, speaking anonymously to journalists, said that the former president could garner the support of 1,478 delegates by March 19.
This would be more than sufficient to secure the majority out of the 2,429 delegates who will be selecting the candidate at the Republican National Convention, scheduled for July in Milwaukee.
In the last Republican presidential primaries in 2016, Trump formally secured the necessary number of delegates to win the nomination only at the end of May.

Two major political parties are participating in the elections: the Democratic and Republican. Currently, the Democratic Party sees incumbent President Joe Biden and Marianne Williamson as candidates.
As of November 13, 2023, the following well-known candidates are participating in the 2024 U.S. presidential elections from the Republican Party:
- Donald Trump, former U.S. president
- Doug Burgum, governor of North Dakota
- Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida
- Chris Christie, former governor of New Jersey
Among these candidates, Donald Trump is the clear frontrunner in the pre-election race. He enjoys high support among Republican voters and is the favorite among bookmakers.
