Trump’s Pennsylvania event ends after audience fainted
A campaign event for US presidential candidate Donald Trump with voters at a sweltering municipal building in a Philadelphia suburb was cut short and turned into an impromptu dance party. Before that, several attendees fainted, according to Bloomberg.
About 40 minutes into the event, Trump interrupted his conversation with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to call for a doctor.
“This is a little bit of a tough one,” Trump said while watching the scene unfolding at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.
Shortly after one supporter was escorted out of the venue, Trump resumed his speech — only for another person to faint.
“Personally, I enjoy this. We lose weight, you know, now you lose weight. We could do this, lose four or five pounds,” Trump remarked.
After the second person exited, Trump apparently decided not to continue the Q&A session. Instead, he suggested playing music for the audience. Trump then danced on stage as songs like "YMCA," "Hallelujah," and "Nothing Compares 2 U" played while the crowd gradually dispersed.
Trump was scheduled to hold a follow-up rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where an assassination attempt had been made on his life in July. His campaign promoted the event as a tribute to the American spirit.
