Trump's nominee for the highest military position supports supply of weapons to Ukraine

General Dan Caine, who was nominated for the position of Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, supported providing military aid to Ukraine, Bloomberg informs.
In his opinion, Russian President Vladimir Putin will continue the war against Ukraine in 2025, "despite high casualties from continued operations." The Kremlin leader considers the conflict as in "his favor."
"Putin remains committed to pursuing his objectives in Ukraine to include securing territorial gains and forcing Ukrainian neutrality," he added.
Caine also emphasized that he supports the idea of providing military aid to Ukraine, but the US "should focus on what unique capabilities only the US can provide, while Europe increases its share of support."
It is worth noting that the administration of US President Donald Trump did not make decisions on providing military aid to Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders are currently receiving assistance that was approved by the administration of Joe Biden.
Trump nominated Caine
In February, US President Donald Trump dismissed the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Charles Brown.
After that, the American leader nominated Air Force Lieutenant General John Dan Caine for the position.
