Former US Presidential Special Envoy Keith Kellogg arrived in Ukraine on Friday, August 21, on the eve of Independence Day. He has already visited the Odesa Commercial Seaport, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Recovery, Infrastructure, and Transport.

First Deputy Minister Serhii Derkach, together with a US delegation led by Kellogg, visited the Odesa Seaport.

The delegation inspected the damage caused by Russian attacks on the port's infrastructure. During the meeting, they discussed maritime safety, the operation of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor, and the resilience of export logistics.

"It is important to us that our American partners can see firsthand the conditions under which Ukrainian ports operate. Despite systematic Russian attacks, we continue to ensure the maritime corridor remains operational. Our task is to work with our partners to strengthen port security, maintain safe navigation, and ensure the resilience of Ukrainian logistics," Derkach notes.

A separate segment of the meeting focused on investments and the participation of American businesses in Ukraine's recovery.

Discussions centered on specific public-private partnership projects in ports, road and rail infrastructure, as well as the potential of the US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund to attract investment in transportation and logistics.

Usually, whenever former US Special Presidential Envoy Keith Kellogg is in Ukraine, Russian troops do not launch large-scale attacks.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy jokingly said he was ready to grant Kellogg citizenship and an apartment.
