Trump's first executive orders unprecedented in modern presidential history - Axios
In his first nine days in office, Donald Trump issued a series of executive orders that are "unlike anything in modern presidential history", Axios reports.
"Trump's reshaping the federal government with a shock-and-awe campaign of unilateral actions that push the limits of presidential power," the article notes.
In terms of numbers, former US Presidents Joe Biden and Harry Truman issued more than 40 executive orders in their first 100 days in office.
As Axios adds, Trump has already signed 38 orders in less than two weeks.
"He has issued more than any predecessor this early in their presidency," Axios notes.
Trump’s executive orders
US President Donald Trump signed a series of executive orders in the early days of his presidency. Notably, Trump signed an order for the United States, the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases in the world, to withdraw from the Paris Agreement.
In addition, many of Trump’s initial orders focused on limiting immigration. The US President also plans to sign more executive orders related to defense in the near future, including one on the Iron Dome for the US.
