Trump's Crimea remarks echo Putin's stance on the region's future - Kremlin

Russia has sharply noticed "alignments" between its position and that of the United States regarding the resolution of the war. Such a statement from Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, followed Donald Trump's claim that Crimea would allegedly remain part of Russia.
Peskov was asked to comment on Trump's statement that Crimea would remain Russian in the event of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
"Work is ongoing. It is too early to talk about any conditions at this stage. This work cannot be conducted in a public format; it can only be in a discrete format," he said.
At the same time, Peskov stated that there are allegedly "many elements" in Trump's understanding of the war that "align with our position."
Trump's statement on Crimea
In a recent interview with The Time, US President Donald Trump stated that Crimea would allegedly remain part of Russia as part of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. According to him, this is understood by everyone, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Additionally, according to Western media reports, the US peace plan proposes recognizing Crimea as Russian. However, Zelenskyy has repeatedly emphasized that Ukraine will not give up its territories.
This week, on April 23, new proposals were developed in London, taking into account Ukraine's position. As stated by the President of Ukraine, these proposals were passed on to Trump.
Reuters reports that the US and Europe's plans for Ukraine differ, particularly regarding territorial issues, NATO membership, and sanctions.
