The approval rating of US President Donald Trump has been declining since he took office, as Americans express concerns about the state of the economy, according to a poll conducted by Emerson College Polling and The Hill.

According to the poll, 50 days after Trump's inauguration, 47% of Americans approve of his performance, while 45% disapprove.

These figures differ from those recorded immediately after the new president's inauguration when 49% of Americans approved of his work and 41% disapproved.

At the same time, a majority of respondents (48%) expressed dissatisfaction with how Trump is handling the economy, while only 37% approved.

"Despite not yet delivering on the economy in voters’ minds, Trump’s support remains strong. However, the true challenge will be how voters perceive their financial future. While little has shifted since the election, the initial ‘honeymoon phase’ seems to be coming to an end," said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling.

Americans are most satisfied with Trump's handling of immigration issues, with 48% approving and 40% disapproving. His weakest policy areas include the economy, healthcare, and cryptocurrencies.

Trump's statement on Zelenskyy's approval rating

Earlier, US President Donald Trump claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy allegedly has a low approval rating among the population. According to the American leader, only 4% of Ukrainians support their president.

However, recent polls show that 68% of Ukrainians support Zelenskyy. This means the Ukrainian president's approval ratings are even higher than those of the US president.

Notably, Zelenskyy's ratings surged after a dispute between him and Trump occurred at the White House.
