Trump's administration reacts to Russian attack on Kyiv, calling it 'shameful'

Trump's Special Envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, stated that Russia’s shelling of Ukraine violates the 1977 Geneva Peace Protocols. Kellogg called for a ceasefire, according to his post on social media platform X.
"This is Kyiv. The indiscriminate killing of women and children at night in their homes is a clear violation of the 1977 Geneva Peace Protocols designed to protect innocents. These attacks are shameful. Stop the killing. Ceasefire now," Kellogg wrote, attaching a photo of Kyiv in flames.
Nighttime shelling of Ukraine
During the night of May 25, Russian forces once again launched a massive attack on Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of over 10 Ukrainians, including children.
In particular, Russia launched 298 drones and 69 missiles at Ukraine. The enemy used various types of missiles, deploying them from Black Sea naval vessels and strategic aviation. Ukrainian air defense forces succeeded in shooting down 45 cruise missiles (two others were lost locally) and eliminating 266 enemy drones.
Thirteen regions of Ukraine came under enemy attack: Kyiv, Kyiv region, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, and Poltava regions.
In Kyiv, the consequences were recorded in three districts. In Holosiivskyi, a fire broke out on the facade of a 5-story dormitory due to a gas pipe rupture. Another residential building was also damaged. In the Dniprovskiy district, a two-story private house was hit. The most serious damage occurred in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where a high-rise building in the Lukianivka area suffered heavy destruction.
