White House head Donald Trump believes that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's affairs are doing pretty well as of today and that he is holding his ground regarding Russia, according to White House broadcast.

"Do you think President Zelenskyy is winning right now?" a reporter asked the US President during an exchange at the White House.

Trump did not give a direct answer to the question, but he assessed the Ukrainian leader's work and his position on the political stage, particularly regarding Russia.

"Well, he's doing pretty well. Look, no matter how you look he's doing pretty well," the White House head responded.

As is known, Trump's rhetoric regarding Ukraine has recently shown positive shifts – this became especially noticeable after the G7 leaders' summit in the French city of Évian-les-Bains. It was there that the US President and Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed, among other things, how to bring Russia to the negotiating table.

Both leaders held several talks on the sidelines of the G7 summit, which took place in France from June 15-17.

After the dialogue with Trump, Zelenskyy stated that the possibility of providing Ukraine with licenses to produce Patriot missiles was perceived positively by the American side for the first time – all that is needed is the signature of the US leader.

Zelenskyy also noted a positive signal regarding the US sanctions policy toward Russia. Trump reportedly promised to return to this issue, which Kyiv also considers a good message.

Moreover, the American leader told Zelenskyy in France that he was impressed by Kyiv's recent military successes.

As The Kyiv Independent wrote, citing its own sources, Trump even advised the president to act more boldly in the war against Russia.
