There were no agreements regarding Ukraine during the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters this.

Rubio noted that at the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, there were "only proposals, not agreements" regarding ending the war.

"There was no agreement in Alaska; there was a proposal made in Alaska. It was never an agreement," the US secretary of state said.

He added that the United States remains ready to play a constructive role in resolving Russia's war against Ukraine.

Trump-Putin agreement

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin had planned a large-scale division of Ukrainian territory during their meeting in Anchorage last year.

According to him, the situation was saved by Europe's decisive intervention. In mid-August 2025, a special delegation urgently flew to the United States. European leaders issued an ultimatum, calling such an agreement impossible.

At the same time, the Kremlin said in recent days that it does not expect the implementation of the understandings reached during the Anchorage talks and continues to focus on achieving its own objectives.
