Trump: Palestinians won't return to Gaza but will receive 'better housing'

Palestinians will not be allowed to return to Gaza. Instead, plans are in place to build "safe communities" for them in other regions, stated US President Donald Trump, according to Sky News.
When asked by a reporter whether the Palestinian people would have the right to return to Gaza, Trump remarked that they would be provided with "better housing" elsewhere.
"No, they wouldn't, because they're going to have much better housing. In other words, I'm talking about building a permanent place for them," he said.
Trump also suggested that there could be six different locations outside Gaza for Palestinians to live. According to him, these would be "beautiful communities" for around 2.3 million Palestinians currently living in the Strip.
"Could be five, six, could be two. But we'll build safe communities, a little bit away from where they are, where all of this danger is. In the meantime, I would own this. Think of it as a real estate development for the future. It would be a beautiful piece of land. No big money spent," said the US President.
He also noted that Gaza is currently "not habitable" and that it could take years before Palestinians are able to return.
Eviction of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip
Last week, US President Donald Trump held a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Following the talks, Trump announced his intention to deploy US troops to the Gaza Strip and establish total control over the enclave. He stated that the US would help rebuild the region, which had been devastated by the war between Israel and Hamas, and develop it into a "Riviera of the Middle East."
To implement the proposal, Trump suggested temporarily relocating Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt and Jordan.
However, the Arab League and the Palestinian Authority rejected this idea.
Moreover, Navi Pillay, head of the UN Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, stated that Trump's plan to evict Palestinians from Gaza is illegal under international law and amounts to ethnic cleansing.
