President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump are scheduled to meet today, September 27, in New York, according to a tweet from Voice of America correspondent Mykhailo Komadovsky.

The journalist released a statement from former President Trump regarding his upcoming meeting with Zelenskyy.
According to Trump, the initiative for the meeting came from the President of Ukraine, and he agreed to it.
"President Zelenskyy has asked to meet with me, and I will be meeting with him tomorrow morning at around 9:45 in Trump Tower," Trump was quoted as saying by the correspondent.

Meeting was in doubt
Earlier, observers expressed doubts about the possibility of a meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy, who has been in the US on an official visit since Monday.
During meetings on Thursday, the Ukrainian president presented his plan for Ukraine's victory to both American President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who is also a candidate for the presidency. Zelenskyy had previously indicated his intention to share this initiative with Trump as well.
Statements from the Republicans during Zelenskyy's visit to the US
Amid President Zelenskyy's visit to the US, ambiguous statements from Trump regarding Zelenskyy and the ongoing war with Russia have emerged.
Additionally, a scandal has arisen among the Republicans concerning Zelenskyy's visit to a munitions factory in Pennsylvania, where no Republican representatives were present (the facility produces artillery shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces).
Members of the Republican Party have also initiated an investigation into potential election interference related to this visit. In response, the White House has addressed the controversy.
Furthermore, Trump's ally, Ohio Senator JD Vance, has criticized US assistance to Ukraine.
