US President Donald Trump sharply criticized CNN and The New York Times for reporting that Iran’s nuclear facilities were not destroyed after American strikes, according to Trump on Truth Social.

"Fake news CNN, together with the failing New York Times, have teamed up in an attempt to demean one of the most successful military strikes in history. The nuclear sites in Iran are completely destroyed,” Trump wrote.

According to the US president, both the New York Times and CNN are facing heavy criticism from the public.

What media reported

CNN and The New York Times stated that US strikes on Iranian sites did not fully eliminate Tehran’s nuclear program.

CNN, citing US intelligence, noted that the strikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran did not destroy the core components of the program. This contradicts previous claims by President Trump that the nuclear program had been wiped out.

US strike on Iran

On the night of June 22, US forces targeted three major nuclear facilities in Iran, in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

The Pentagon stated that the US had destroyed Tehran’s nuclear program and ambitions.

Recently, President Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a full ceasefire.
