Trump is firmly determined to end Russia’s war against Ukraine – Polish President

Only US President Donald Trump can end Russia's war against Ukraine, and he is firmly determined to do so, said Polish President Andrzej Duda during an interview with LRT.
"I've always said that, in my personal opinion, only the President of the United States can end this war. Europe tried — the largest states urged Putin to return to international law, but without success. He essentially mocked the Europeans, the Normandy Format, and the Minsk Agreements. The events since Russia's invasion in 2014, these past nine years, have shown that Europe is incapable of dealing with this," Duda said.
He noted that the United States is the world's largest economic, military, and nuclear power.
"And as Donald Trump previously said in response to various threats from Vladimir Putin - they both have a nuclear button, but only Donald Trump can be sure that his button actually works," the Polish President added.
Duda emphasized that Trump is firmly committed to ending the war in Ukraine.
"After very quiet diplomatic efforts, when he, as some have accused him, gently tried to persuade Russia and Putin to reach some kind of peace agreement with Ukraine, we now have to hope that Trump will use different means. I'm thinking primarily of various economic pressure measures to force Russia to stop this aggression against Ukraine. So far, this has not been successful, and Putin's cynicism remains evident," he added.
US sanctions against Russia
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to impose new sanctions on Russia if Russian leader Vladimir Putin refuses to engage in peace negotiations. However, so far, he is in no haste to implement them.
Recently, Trump stated that Putin is "playing with fire" and threatened Russia with "really bad things." This came after Russia launched several massive strikes on Ukraine.
At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US is currently refraining from imposing sanctions, as threats of additional sanctions could make Moscow stop discussions about the end to the war.
