US President Donald Trump stated that he would grant TikTok another extension for its sale to an American owner if necessary to finalize the deal, reports Bloomberg.

In an interview with NBC News, he said that he feels "a little warm spot" toward the app and would like to see the deal through to ensure the social network remains available to Americans.

In April, Trump already extended the deadline for TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, by 75 days. This was to allow the app to be separated from Chinese ownership and to find a buyer in the US. In the NBC interview, he mentioned that another delay might not be needed.

Earlier, Trump had stated that China's objections to new tariffs had slowed the deal to sell TikTok, which Beijing was supposed to approve.

In 2024, the US Congress passed, and former President Joe Biden signed, a law requiring TikTok to be sold to a US buyer. Otherwise, the app faced a ban.

On January 19, 2025, the social network became unavailable to Americans. However, after Trump took office on January 20, he extended the deadline for the TikTok sale, lifting the ban accordingly.

Trump also credits social networks for helping boost his approval rating among young voters during the 2024 campaign.
