About 60% of Americans who voted in the Nov. 3 midterm elections disapprove of Trump's job performance. Roughly three-quarters of voters are dissatisfied with what is happening in the country, according to preliminary results from the CNN Voter Poll.

About three-quarters of Americans who voted view the situation in the country negatively. Nearly 4 in 10 respondents say they feel angry.

According to preliminary data, two factors are behind this dissatisfaction: a negative attitude toward Trump and the economic situation. It remains to be seen how this will affect the results, particularly in traditionally Republican states, where the race for Senate seats has unexpectedly intensified.

About 6 in 10 voters disapprove of the president's performance, and roughly half of them express strong disapproval. Dissatisfaction is evident even among his supporters: about one in five who voted for Trump in 2024 now view his performance negatively.

The proportion of Americans whose lives have been made more difficult by inflation has remained virtually unchanged since 2024. This time, however, many hold Trump personally responsible.

About two-thirds of voters believe the president has worsened the country's economic situation. Most of them attribute rising prices specifically to his policies, rather than to circumstances beyond his control.

The CNN Voter Poll has replaced traditional exit polls. It combines polling at polling stations on Election Day with tens of thousands of interviews conducted across the country in the preceding weeks.

At the same time, this is merely a poll with a margin of error, so its results should be viewed as an estimate. This is especially true of the initial data, which has not yet been adjusted to reflect the final election results.

The US midterm congressional elections took place on November 3. Americans elected all 435 members of the House of Representatives, as well as 35 of the 100 senators.
