Trump expects 'very good proposals' to end fighting in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump expects “very good proposals” to halt hostilities between Ukraine and Russia, stated Trump during a meeting with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele.
"All I can do is try and stop it. That’s all I want to do. I want to stop the killing. And I think we’re doing well in that regard. I think you’ll have some very good proposals very soon," he said.
Russia's strikes
Trump's statement came against the backdrop of Russia's brutal attacks on peaceful cities in Ukraine.
On April 4, Russia launched a ballistic missile with a cluster warhead at a residential area in Kryvyi Rih. The explosion occurred near a children’s playground, killing 19 people, including nine children.
Yesterday, April 13, Russian forces fired two ballistic missiles at the city of Sumy. At least 35 people were killed, including an 11-year-old boy and a 17-year-old teenager.
In both the Kryvyi Rih and Sumy attacks, Russia falsely claimed it was targeting a meeting of Ukrainian or NATO officers.
Trump referred to the Russian strike on Sumy as “a mistake.”
Meanwhile, a full ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia hasn't started, as Russian President Vladimir Putin has put forward a series of demands that would significantly weaken Ukraine’s Armed Forces. In particular, the Kremlin leader demands that Ukraine completely stop mobilization during the ceasefire.
