"I will do whatever is necessary. That war — I've settled eight wars. That war is getting closer. Believe it or not, it's getting closer. And we think we're going to end up getting a settlement between Russia and Ukraine," Trump replied.
The question to the US leader was asked by a propagandist from the Russian TASS news agency.
Putin invited Trump to visit Moscow
Russian President Vladimir Putin has already invited US President Donald Trump to visit Moscow during phone conversations.
Just yesterday, on May 11, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the invitations for Trump remain valid and that Putin "will always be glad to meet the American counterpart in Moscow." According to him, the Russian leader invites the US President to visit the Russian capital during every phone call.
Moscow has been visited multiple times by the US President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. US leader’s son-in-law Jared Kushner was also part of the American delegation.
Witkoff met with Putin to discuss the settlement of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Putin has visited the US once. He and Trump met in Alaska. The main topic of discussions was also Ukraine.
