The President of the United States is committed to resolving the war between Russia and Ukraine as quickly as possible. President Donald Trump is determined to end the war permanently, according to US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz during a briefing in Saudi Arabia.
According to Trump’s national security advisor, the American leader is "determined to move very quickly" in resolving the war between Ukraine and Russia. Waltz made this statement after hours-long talks between Moscow and Washington in Saudi Arabia.
Waltz stated that the war in Ukraine must be ended forever.
The advisor emphasized that the American president considers the ongoing war in Ukraine unacceptable.
US-Russia meeting in Saudi Arabia
Today, February 18, a meeting between US and Russian representatives took place in Riyadh, focusing on ending the war in Ukraine.
The US delegation, led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, also included National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
After the meeting, Waltz reiterated that the US president has clearly expressed his desire to bring an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine as soon as possible.
According to Waltz, many countries are trying to assist President Donald Trump in achieving this goal, as it must be done on fair terms.
Additionally, Waltz noted that negotiations with Ukraine regarding the end of the full-scale war will include discussions on territorial issues and future security guarantees. According to him, these elements will be the driving force behind further negotiations.
