Trump demands Senate cut summer vacation to confirm key picks

President Donald Trump is urging the Senate not to go on summer recess and to confirm his nominees for key positions, according to his post on Truth Social.
The US president addressed Senate Majority Leader, Republican John Thune.
"I hope that the very talented John Thune, who has won numerous victories in the last two weeks, and indeed in the last six months, will cancel the August vacation (and long weekend) to approve my incredible nominees," Trump wrote.
According to reports, senators are expected to confirm six nominees put forward by Trump. However, the Senate is scheduled to go on recess in August.
Among the key candidates awaiting confirmation are Justice Department attorney Emil Bove, nominated for a seat on the federal appeals court, and former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, nominated as the chief federal prosecutor for the District of Washington.
Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill
Recently, the US approved a budget package dubbed the One Big Beautiful Bill. It includes an extension of tax cuts introduced during Donald Trump’s first term, increased spending on border security, and cuts to social programs.
On July 3, the US House of Representatives passed the package of bills initiated by Trump.
Just two days later, on July 5, Trump signed the tax and spending bill into law, calling it "the biggest win yet."
