Trump declares end of Israel–Iran war

US President Donald Trump expects the ceasefire between Israel and Iran to last "forever," according to his comment to NBC News.
During the interview, he called the ceasefire between Iran and Israel that he announced "a wonderful day for the world, in my opinion."
"It’s a great day for America. It’s a great day for the Middle East. I’m very happy to have been able to get the job done," he said. "A lot of people were dying, and it was only going to get worse. It would have brought the whole Middle East down," the US president said.
When asked how long the ceasefire would last, Trump replied:
"I think the ceasefire is unlimited. It’s going to go forever."
He also added that the war is completely over and said he does not believe Israel and Iran "will ever be shooting at each other again."
Background
Just a few hours ago, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a full 12-hour ceasefire.
According to him, Iran would halt fire first, followed by Israel. After 24 hours of ceasefire, the war would be considered officially over.
However, about an hour ago, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi issued a condition under which Iran would stop its attacks on Israel.
"However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards," he wrote on a social media platform X.
