The American President of the United States, Donald Trump, commenting on the recent airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, drew a historical parallel with the actions of the USA during the Second World War, according to The Guardian.

Speaking in The Hague, the President of the USA noted that the strikes on Iran, in his opinion, put an end to the threat from Tehran, just as the nuclear strikes once ended the war with Japan.

"They spent trillions of dollars trying to do this thing, and they didn’t come up with it, and we’re actually getting along with them very well right now. But had we not succeeded with that hit? That hit ended the war," said Trump.

He compared the actions of the USA with historical events from the time of the Second World War.

"I don’t want to use an example of Hiroshima, I don’t want to use an example of Nagasaki, but that was essentially the same thing that ended that war. This ended that, this ended that war. If we didn’t take that out, they would have been they’d be fighting right now," said the President of the USA.

Strikes on Iran

Israel began a military operation against Iran on June 13, delivering serious strikes on facilities connected with Tehran’s nuclear program and its missile potential.

On June 22, the United States joined the conflict–American forces attacked Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

According to Fox News, the United States used six bunker-buster bombs, each weighing 15 tons.
