US President Donald Trump stated that the decision for Israel’s strike on Qatar was made not by him, but by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, writing about it on Truth Social.

Trump also said he assured the Emir of Qatar that such an incident would not happen again.

Trump wrote that he had spoken with Prime Minister Netanyahu after the attack. He said that the Prime Minister had told him that he wanted peace. Trump stated that he believed this sad incident could become an opportunity for peace. He also mentioned that he had spoken with the Emir and the Prime Minister of Qatar and had thanked them for their support and friendship with the country. Trump added that he had assured them that such a thing would not happen again on their soil.

Israel’s strike on Qatar

On September 9, around 4:00 p.m., the Israel Defense Forces and counterintelligence carried out an airstrike on Qatar’s capital, Doha, targeting the leadership of the Hamas group.

The IDF reported that the strike targeted high-ranking members of the organization who were directly responsible for the attacks on October 7, 2023, and coordinated the subsequent war against Israel.

The army emphasized that measures were taken to minimize the risk to civilians before the attack, utilizing precision weapons and additional intelligence data.

Earlier, media outlets reported that US President Donald Trump allegedly approved Israel’s strike on Doha. Washington was aware of the plans in advance.
