US President Donald Trump believes that if he had not intervened, Russia would have fully taken over Ukraine, according to the American leader on Truth Social.

Trump wrote that most NATO countries previously "didn’t pay their bills" and spent only 2% of GDP on defense until he became US president. Now, he added, Alliance countries are "paying 5% of GDP" in defense spending.

"Without my involvement, Russia would have all of Ukraine right now. Remember, also, I single-handedly ended 8 wars, and Norway, a NATO Member, foolishly chose not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize. But that doesn’t matter! What does matter is that I saved millions of Lives," he boasted.

According to Trump, Russia and China are not afraid of NATO without the United States. He expressed doubts that the Alliance would stand by the US if the country needed it.

"We will always be there for NATO, even if they are not there for us," he added.

What Trump said about Russia’s plans

Back in May, US President Donald Trump stated that the territories Russia had seized since the start of the full-scale war were not enough for Moscow.

According to him, Russia wants to take over all of Ukraine’s territory.

Recently, the American leader also commented on the "need" for Ukraine to make territorial concessions to end the war, saying that Russia "would take those territories anyway in a few months."

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin recently ordered his soldiers to continue the offensive in Zaporizhzhia and expand the "buffer zone" in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
