Trump assassination plot was planned for his birthday, FBI says

According to the FBI director, intelligence about the planned attack emerged on June 10. The suspects intended to carry out the attack on June 14.
The TV channel reports that they planned to use explosive-laden drones to strike nearby buildings. Snipers were then expected to open fire on people attempting to flee.
Arrest of suspects
Kash Patel said that thanks to rapid law enforcement action, several suspects have already been taken into custody, and the threat was quickly neutralized.
Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance stressed that the scale of the preparation was so significant that the intelligence services were forced to make the information public.
Donald Trump is currently on a visit to France for the G7 summit. Commenting on reports of a planned attack on the White House and an assassination plot against him, he told journalists that he was hearing about it for the first time.
The most recent assassination-related incident involving a US President occurred on April 25, when an armed individual was detained during a dinner between Donald Trump and journalists. Several shots were fired at the time.
Earlier, in February 2026, a US court sentenced Ryan Routh to life imprisonment after he attempted to shoot the President at a golf course in Florida in September 2024.
There were also reports of an assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. According to reports, a bullet passed within inches of his head and grazed his ear.
At the same time, some Americans remain skeptical about all reports of such incidents. According to polls, most consider the Pennsylvania shooting real, while some view the dinner incident as staged.
