Trump approval falls to new low in second term

Support for the US president has collapsed to its lowest level of his second term amid the war with Iran, according to Reuters.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll shows that Donald Trump's approval rating among Americans has fallen to 34% — the lowest level of his popularity during his current term in office.
Only 24% of Americans believe the war with Iran has been worth the financial and other costs. Meanwhile, half of the respondents say the conflict was not worth it at all.
In addition, most respondents are skeptical about the country’s current geopolitical position. Only 23% of Americans (including half of Republicans) believe the US is in a stronger position on Iran compared to before the war began.

At the same time, 35% of respondents say Washington’s position has weakened. The rest were either undecided or believed the situation had remained roughly the same.
Peace prospects
Americans are also doubtful about the effectiveness of new diplomatic agreements reached after the signing of a bilateral memorandum.
In particular, 63% of respondents said it is unlikely that the deal signed by Donald Trump will bring lasting peace with Iran. By party lines, this view is shared by half of Republicans and 8 in 10 Democrats.

Only 18% of respondents believe that a stable peace between Tehran and Washington is possible.
The survey was conducted over five days and ended on June 22. A total of 1,262 adults across all US states participated. The margin of error is 3 percentage points.
Recall that a recent survey showed that 48% of Europeans consider Donald Trump an "enemy of Europe."
According to The Economist, Donald Trump has become the least popular US president in the past 16 years.
