Trump announces that he will have a call with Putin soon

US President Donald Trump will soon hold a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, states US President Donald Trump during a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki.
Trump was asked whether he would take action against Putin, as the deadline for a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is approaching.
"I'll have a conversation with him (Putin - ed.) very shortly, and I'll know pretty much what we'll be doing. We have taken very strong action, as you know… But I'll be speaking to him over the next few days, I'm going to know exactly what’s happening," Trump replied.
He noted that "7,819 people were killed last week," referring to both Russian and Ukrainian soldiers. According to Trump, Russia and Ukraine are losing troops at numbers unseen since World War II.
Trump added that Russia is advancing by inches, dropping bombs, and killing everyone.
The president also expressed hope that a "good solution" will be found to end the war.
Zelenskyy–Putin meeting
Before the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, US President Donald Trump stated that he wanted to organize a trilateral meeting that would also include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
However, Moscow’s position on a meeting with Zelenskyy has not changed. Russian leader Vladimir Putin expressed doubt today, September 3, about whether such a meeting makes sense.
At the same time, he added that if Zelenskyy wants a meeting, he should come to Moscow.
