US President Donald Trump has a call scheduled with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Trump said while speaking to reporters.
"I have a setup. Today is his birthday," Trump said.
The US president also said that the settlement of another war is "coming."
"I settled eight wars. Another one is coming," he stressed.
Donald Trump said that Russia's war against Ukraine would end soon, despite there being no signs so far that the fighting is coming to an end.
He once again said that he had ended eight wars in different parts of the world and added that the Russia-Ukraine conflict was the easiest task of all.
US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said that Donald Trump is in no hurry to impose new sanctions on Russia because he wants to assess all possible compromises.
At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the US is only wasting time trying to find a compromise with Russia. According to him, the Russian leader will use any changes to put forward new conditions and pressure Washington.
