US President Donald Trump has announced that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will step down from her position at the end of August. The move is due to the birth of her child, though she will not be leaving the president's team, according to a post by the US leader on Truth Social.
"Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect," Trump stated.
He did not specify who would become the new press secretary, but noted that Leavitt will become one of his top outside advisers and an influential voice in the Republican Party.
According to Trump, they are working to challenge history and secure a decisive victory in the midterm elections.
"Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024," the president wrote.
