Donald Trump does not plan to provide Ukraine with long-range JASSM missiles, the US President stated while speaking to journalists.

He said he does not consider the 50-day deadline given to Russia to reach a deal on ending the war in Ukraine to be too long.

Trump also emphasized that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should not carry out strikes on Moscow.

"I am on nobody’s side, I want to stop the killing," the President emphasized.

JASSM missiles

The American JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile) is a high-precision, long-range cruise missile designed to strike well-protected ground targets without entering enemy air defense zones.

These missiles are launched from fighter jets and strategic bombers such as the F-16, F-15, B-1B, B-2, and others. The standard version has a range of up to 370 km, while the extended-range variant, JASSM-ER, can hit targets over 900 km away.

JASSM features a low-observable airframe and a navigation system that combines GPS with infrared guidance, allowing it to accurately hit fortified sites, such as command posts, ammunition depots, airfields, or radar installations, while minimizing the risk of interception.

Rumors about potential US plans to transfer JASSM missiles to Ukraine first surfaced in August of last year, when Joe Biden was President. However, Ukraine has not received this type of weaponry.

Just yesterday, Military Watch Magazine reported that US President Donald Trump might approve the delivery of long-range JASSM missiles to Ukraine.
