Trump announced Ukraine-Russia energy truce prematurely, FT reports

An agreement between Ukraine and Russia to halt strikes on energy facilities is not yet ready, and the final terms of the deal have yet to be agreed upon by the two sides, according to Financial Times journalist Christopher Miller.
According to Miller, US President Donald Trump’s statement that Ukraine and Russia had agreed to stop striking energy facilities was premature.
The journalist said he had received information from people directly involved in the process in Kyiv. According to them, work on an agreement to halt strikes on energy infrastructure is still ongoing.
Miller stressed that Ukraine and Russia have not yet reached a final agreement. At the same time, he noted that not all the details of a potential deal are clear at this point.
"Trump jumped the gun: My info from people involved in Kyiv is that this is something in the works, but they warn that there is not a finalized agreement. Details unclear but more and story TK," the journalist wrote.
On September 14, Donald Trump said that Ukraine and Russia had agreed not to strike each other’s energy facilities. According to him, Kyiv would stop attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, while Moscow would do the same with Ukrainian facilities.
Following the statement, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was ready for such an agreement but was waiting for concrete details and guarantees from its partners that Russia would actually stop striking Ukrainian energy infrastructure and critical facilities.
