US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be able to make any decisions about Ukraine during their meeting in Alaska. Without Kyiv's participation, this is impossible, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during the Ukrainian Youth Forum Youth Is Here!.

He noted that the talks between Trump and Putin are important in any case. But discussing Ukraine without Ukraine is impossible, and no one will accept such a format.

"Therefore, the conversation between the US president and Putin can certainly be important for their bilateral track. But they cannot make any decisions about Ukraine without us," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The head of the Ukrainian state expressed hope that Trump understands this principle.

Zelenskyy also said he is confident that in the future there will be a meeting between him, Putin, and Trump. Since, if there is a desire to end the war, such a summit is necessary.

"We will stand on our truth, do everything to end this war. And there are things that are in your heart, there are things that are in your Constitution," he added.

Trump–Putin meeting

The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 15, in Alaska.

The American leader has already said that he plans to ask Putin to end the war against Ukraine.

Trump also promised that he would not conclude a peace agreement on Ukraine with Putin, since this must be done by Kyiv and Moscow.
