In the United States, observers have noted the apparent disappearance of an image of US President Donald Trump from newly released files in the high-profile Jeffrey Epstein case, published the day before by the US Department of Justice, according to Sky News.

Democrats from the House Oversight Committee reported on social media that an image of Trump had allegedly disappeared from the Epstein files. They claimed that the image featuring the US President was likely removed.

In the post they referenced, a photo shows a desk with framed pictures, and inside a drawer, there is an image of Donald Trump. According to the Democrats, this photo "appears to have been removed" from the published set of materials.

Other social media users also said they could no longer locate the corresponding file. The outlet’s research team likewise failed to find the previously uploaded image in the official file browser.

To support this claim, a comparison was published showing the list of files currently available online alongside a list of materials downloaded shortly after publication, around 9:00 PM on Friday.

The day before, the US Department of Justice released a new batch of files in the Jeffrey Epstein case, which did indeed include an image featuring US President Donald Trump.

It appears that this is the file in question.

As is known, on December 10 a US court ruled to allow the release of materials related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. The disclosure became possible after the adoption of legislation aimed at increasing transparency around these files.

Previously, the investigation materials were considered permanently sealed under the law. In August, the court rejected a request by the Department of Justice to make them public.

In November, Donald Trump signed a law authorizing the publication of the Epstein files. Commenting on his connections to the convicted sex offender, the US president said that he had cut off contact with him long ago.

According to the official version, Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in 2019 in a New York jail cell.
