American leader Donald Trump has, for the first time, commented on reports that his name appears tens of thousands of times in the latest batch of Epstein files. He stated that he has no connection to the sexual offender’s case.

The US president made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the White House.

"I had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein," Trump stated.

US President Donald Trump also suggested that the Department of Justice, which released the latest batch of Epstein files, should focus on other matters rather than linking him to the case.

He said that the DOJ announced the release of three million pages of documents, which was supposedly all they had to do. Trump argued that the department should focus on other cases, noting that aside from figures such as Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, and others who raise questions, the Epstein story has no connection to him.

The US president further claimed that the DOJ reportedly found that Jeffrey Epstein had allegedly conspired with author Michael Wolff against him. According to Trump, Epstein and Wolff supposedly aimed to prevent him from winning the elections, which he said proves he had no dealings with Epstein.

Trump described the situation as "a terrible story" and said that it wastes a lot of time. He added that when Epstein was alive, around ten years ago, the matter attracted little attention, and now it mostly affects other high-profile figures, including Bill Clinton.

Trump and Epstein case

It is known that Donald Trump’s name appears multiple times in the case of financier and sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein. This includes not only mentions of his name but also shared photos and videos with Epstein.

Recently, the US Department of Justice released another batch of so-called Epstein files. Out of three million pages of documents related to the sexual offender, Trump is mentioned over 38,000 times in 5,300 files. No evidence of any wrongdoing on his part is included.

Earlier files included allegations regarding Trump’s acquaintance with a 14-year-old girl at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
