Trilateral meetings between Ukraine and Russia have been postponed due to a shift in priorities by the United States, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with the Italian outlet Rai Radio.

Why the dialogue with Russia has stalled

According to the president, the schedule of diplomatic meetings has been affected by the international situation. In particular, Washington temporarily shifted its focus to developments in Iran.

“The United States was focused on the Middle East,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained. Because of this, trilateral talks with Russia were postponed.

The president assured that the process has not been completely halted. “But we will start again…” he emphasized.

Weapons and the energy situation

In addition to diplomatic issues, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the importance of uninterrupted military support. He noted that the front line requires constant replenishment of resources, so assistance with equipment must not stop.

The president also commented on recent developments regarding stabilization in Iran. In his view, achieving peace there would be a positive signal for the entire world.

While diplomacy is on pause, Russia is preparing new offensives. Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Vladimir Putin will try not only to seize Donbas but also to advance in southern Ukraine, aiming for full control over these territories.

He also stated that Russia is helping Iran, while the United States is ignoring all evidence of this. According to him, the U.S. trusts Vladimir Putin, and that is a problem.
