Treat your hair right: Hair growth methods that really work and provide results
Hair loss is an undesirable but common problem for people. It can be cured by taking proper care of your hair and avoiding mistakes.
It's considered normal for people to lose 50 to 100 strands of hair every day.
Hair loss can occur due to several factors, such as hormone fluctuations, increased stress levels, and seasonal changes.
Especially when the winter cold stops, the risk of excessive hair loss increases. There are 4 ways to avoid it.
Melatonin
Melatonin is a hormone that regulates the body's circadian rhythms. It can also be used as a topical treatment to stimulate hair growth.
It does this in several ways, including lengthening the growth phase of the hair cycle, also known as the anagen phase. Melatonin also has antioxidant properties that protect hair follicles, reducing hair thinning.
According to a 2023 study, melatonin can be applied directly to the scalp in the form of a cream, serum, foam, or spray.
Life hacks for hair growth
Social media is full of life hacks for hair growth that promise instant results. While most of them are unfortunately ineffective, there are two that do work if applied to the scalp properly.
Rosemary oil improves hair growth by increasing blood flow, reducing inflammation, and protecting against cell damage.
However, it is important to dilute it with jojoba or argan oil, as pure rosemary oil is strong enough to damage hair follicles.
Rinsing with rice water is another way. There is no specific research to claim that it promotes hair growth, but rice water can improve hair health and density because it contains proteins and many nutrients such as vitamins E and B.
Scalp massage
Scalp massages are a quick and easy way to reduce seasonal hair loss. They dilate the blood vessels in the scalp, which strengthens the follicles and stimulates growth.
Massages also prevent the formation of dandruff, which can damage the scalp and in some cases lead to thinning or excessive hair loss.
Healthy diet
A healthy diet is one of the best ways to reduce hair loss. Foods rich in vitamins B and E, selenium, zinc, and protein are essential for strong, healthy hair.
These include eggs, blackberries, lentils, and salmon. You can also take collagen and omega-3 supplements.
