Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 12: +980 troops and major equipment units loss

From August 11 to 12, Russian forces lost 980 personnel and different pieces of military equipment on the front, according to the data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to August 12, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 1,065,220 (+980) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 11,098 (+5);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 23,119 (+5);
- artillery systems - 31,406 (+26);
- MLRS - 1,464 (+2);
- anti-aircraft systems - 1,205 (+1);
- aircraft - 421;
- helicopters - 340;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 50,753 (+107);
- cruise missiles - 3,556;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 58,219 (+106);
- special equipment - 3,937 (+1)
Frontline update
According to the General Staff, as of 6 PM Kyiv time, there have been 65 combat engagements along the frontline since the start of the day, with the Pokrovsk direction remaining the focal point of fighting.
In particular, preliminary data show that the Russian army losses over the previous day amounted to 1,000 soldiers. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 4 tanks, 7 armored combat vehicles, 37 artillery systems, 191 drones, and other equipment.
