US President Donald Trump said the United States achieved "total and complete victory" after reaching a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran, CNN reports.

"Total and complete victory. 100 percent. No question about it," Trump said.

At the same time, he did not specify whether he plans to carry out his previous threats to destroy Iran's civilian infrastructure if Tehran violates the agreement.

"You're going to have to see," the US president added.

According to CNN, Iran's Supreme National Security Council, in turn, also declared victory amid the ceasefire.

"We convey glad tidings to the great nation of Iran that nearly all of the war’s objectives have been achieved, and your valiant sons have driven the enemy into a state of historic helplessness and enduring defeat," the statement obtained by CNN from Iranian officials said.

The statement released by Iranian state media also said that Tehran's 10-point peace plan envisions regulation of passage through the Strait of Hormuz, cessation of attacks on Iran and its regional proxy forces, withdrawal of US troops from the region, compensation to Iran, lifting of international sanctions, and unfreezing of assets, as well as mandatory UN resolution to ensure final peace agreement.

"Our hands remain upon the trigger, and should the slightest error be committed by the enemy, it shall be met with full force," the Iranian Council statement said.

At the same time, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on social media platform X that Washington accepted "a general framework" of Iran's 10-point proposal as a basis for negotiations.

In turn, Tehran is considering a 15-point proposal from the US.

"If attacks against Iran are halted, our powerful armed forces will cease their defensive operations," he said.

The Iranian minister added that within two weeks, "safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible via coordination with Iran's armed forces."

Trump later reposted Araghchi's statement on Truth Social and accused CNN of spreading the statement of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, calling it fake.

He said that Iran's official position is Araghchi's post, which is much softer than the statements of the Security Council, which speaks of "defeat" of the US.

A two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said he had agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran. During this period, the deal is expected to be finalized.

He explained that the reason for agreement is that the US has already "met and exceeded all military objectives" and moved toward final agreement on long-term peace with Iran and peace in the Middle East.

The US president also made it clear that Washington will play its role in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to him, there will be many positive developments and a lot of money will be made.
