The editors of the American magazine TIME have summarized the results of 2023 by compiling a list of the ten best games. The leader was the horror game Alan Wake 2, and the top was closed by the fishing adventure game Dredge.
Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake, a writer imprisoned in a nightmare beyond our world, writes a dark novel in an attempt to change the reality around him and escape from prison. Fleeing the horror of the darkness that haunts him, Wake tries to keep his sanity and defeat the devil on his turf.
Anderson and Wake are two heroes who follow different paths in two separate realities, but deep down they are connected by something they cannot understand: through their actions and deeds they reflect each other, influencing the worlds around them.
Taking its cue from a horror novel, otherworldly forces of darkness infiltrate Bright Falls, poisoning the souls of the locals and threatening the loved ones of Wake and Anderson. Light is the weapon and refuge of those fighting the darkness.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The game takes place sometime after the end of the previous part. At the end of Breath of the Wild, Link defeats the villain Ganon and saves Zelda.
In the sequel, the story repeats itself. While exploring the catacombs under the castle, Link and Zelda accidentally awaken an ancient evil. The princess disappears again, and the protagonist wakes up on an island floating above the kingdom of Hyrule. Link sets out to rescue Zelda and deal with Ganon.

Resident Evil 4
Meet the complete re-release of the legendary 2005 survival horror game Resident Evil 4.
Six years after the events that took place in Raccoon City in Resident Evil 2, Leon Kennedy, who was then alive, travels to a remote European village to investigate the disappearance of the daughter of the US president. What he finds there is unlike anything he has ever encountered before.
Every aspect of the classic game has been updated for the current generation, from modern graphics and controls to a reimagined story that may surprise even die-hard fans of the original game.

Dead Space
The classic sci-fi survival horror game returns in a completely redesigned form to offer a deeper immersive experience.
Isaac Clarke is an ordinary engineer who has to repair a huge mining ship, the USG Ishimura but finds that something has gone wrong. The ship's crew has been killed, and Nicole, Isaac's lover, is lost somewhere on board.
Now alone and armed with only his engineering tools and skills, Isaac races to find Nicole while the nightmarish secret of what happened aboard the Ishimura unfolds around him. Trapped with hostile creatures called necromorphs, Isaac must fight for survival.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a side-scrolling platformer. As in the previous installments of the series, the player's goal is to get his character to the end of the level, avoiding enemies (such as Goombas and piranhas) and overcoming obstacles.
In addition to classic power-ups such as the Fire Flower and the Star, new ones have been added to the game: a fruit that turns the hero into an elephant, a flower that allows you to create bubbles that immobilize enemies, a mushroom that gives the player armor in the form of a drill, and a "miracle flower" that can change the design of the level causing various effects.
One of the innovations is the badges, which give the player various privileges that are unlocked throughout the game. They are divided into three categories: action icons that give the character an additional active ability, power-up icons that add a passive ability, and expert icons that give the character advanced skills.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
The action takes place five years after the events described in STAR WARS Jedi: The Fallen Order. Imperial troops are chasing Cal - he must always be one step ahead. In addition, he has a heavy burden on his shoulders: he is one of the last Jedi in the galaxy.
Jedi: Survivor features legendary Star Wars stories, worlds, and characters, as well as exciting battles just like in Jedi: Fallen Order.

Diablo IV.
The game takes place in the world of the Diablo Sanctuary after the events of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. The cultists have summoned the main antagonist and Mephisto's daughter, Lilith. After the events of the previous games, the forces of demons and angels were depleted, allowing her to establish power in the Sanctuary.
Before the events of the game, Lilith and the angel Inarius had created the kingdom of Sanctuary to provide themselves with a place of refuge. This relationship between the demon and the angel led to the birth of the Nephalem, a powerful race to which the protagonist belongs.
The inhabitants of the Sanctuary believe that this power will draw attention to their sanctuary, and as a result, the residents talk about their destruction. Lilith, not wanting her children to be killed, destroyed everyone who opposed her, forcing Inarius to banish her into the void.
