"After seven long weeks, 24 children, women, and men who were held captive in the Gaza Strip have returned home - to Israel," the Ministry of Health of Israel reported.

Upon arrival in Israel, the individuals were taken for examination to the Hatzor Airbase. Later, they were transported to hospitals across the country by helicopter. Eleven released hostages from Thailand and the Philippines were sent to the Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh) near Be'er Ya'akov for medical evaluation by healthcare professionals.

All the hostages released by Hamas will receive medical and psychological assistance in Israeli hospitals, as reported by the Ministry of Health of Israel on Telegram. They have reunited with their families in these facilities.

"These are very sensitive moments for the families and the released hostages who have returned to Israel. We want to preserve their confidentiality and dignity. The Ministry of Health welcomes their return home and wishes the safe return of all the hostages," the statement said.

The liberation of hostages from Hamas

On November 24, Hamas militants released the first group of hostages, sending them to the checkpoint on the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. This became possible after Israel declared a temporary ceasefire.

As part of the agreement, Hamas released 13 hostages who are Israeli citizens. Mothers and children were handed over to representatives of the Red Cross. In addition, Hamas released 10 citizens of Thailand and one citizen of the Philippines from captivity.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he intends to return all Hamas hostages.
