President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, according to the Office of the President's press service.
The main topic of their meeting was providing Ukraine with the necessary military support to counter Russian aggression, including the supply of artillery systems and long-range strike capabilities.
"This support is crucial. The United States is our key ally and partner that helps us win the war," Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized the importance of air defense systems and the supply of ammunition for the ongoing process of de-occupation of Ukrainian territories.
US assistance to Ukraine
The United States is Ukraine's key ally and partner since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion. Washington has provided Ukraine with numerous packages of military assistance.
This assistance has included Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, artillery, HIMARS rocket artillery systems, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, various drones, and more.
