Third this year: Another drone found in Moldova

In Moldova, an unidentified drone was found in one of the border regions. This is the third drone discovered in the country since the start of the year, according to the Moldovan police.
According to the report, the drone was found near the village of Sofia in the Drochia district, in the direction of the settlement of Lazo. Authorities were immediately notified of the discovery.
"The area is being secured, and experts from the Police Technical and Explosive Section will thoroughly examine the object. Citizens are reminded to avoid approaching such objects and to follow police instructions," the statement said.
The police did not specify the origin of the drone. Moldovan authorities also released photos of the discovered drone.

This marks the third drone found in the country since early 2026. On January 17, a Russian drone was discovered near the village of Nucăreni in the Telenești district. It turned out to be a Gerbera decoy drone without a warhead.
Another drone was found in Moldova’s border regions on January 22. This drone, which fell in the yard of an abandoned house, was equipped with a warhead and was detonated on site due to the danger.
