People with political influence and Russian passports who work against Ukrainian independence have no place in Ukraine, according to the evening address by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The head of the Ukrainian state noted that work is ongoing regarding those individuals who have tied themselves to Russia.

"Figures with political influence and Russian passports, individuals working against Ukrainian independence in all its dimensions, including spiritual independence, and anyone who supports or justifies aggression — none of these people have or will have a place in Ukraine. We are making the appropriate decisions," Zelenskyy added.

According to him, the National Security Council will adopt new decisions on sanctions.

Metropolitan Onufriy has been stripped of his citizenship

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine reported that, based on the information it gathered, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), Onufriy, was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship.

It was revealed that the metropolitan holds a Russian passport. RBC-Ukraine has already obtained a photo of the document.

According to law enforcement sources, Metropolitan Onufriy received the Russian passport back in 2002.
