Protests continue in Georgia today, November 29. People have taken to the streets in large numbers due to the new controversial decision made by the pro-Russian government, according to Ekho Kavkaza and Tbilisi Life.

According to Tbilisi Life, tens of thousands of citizens have gathered peacefully outside the Georgian Parliament building in Tbilisi.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia complained that some of the protesters "are resisting law enforcement officers, insulting them verbally, damaging streetlights and other equipment, and setting electrical cables on fire."

It was also reported that unidentified objects were allegedly thrown at the police, and one officer was injured.

Amid these events, a large concentration of special forces was observed near the Parliament building.

Law enforcement officers have already started using water cannons and pepper spray against the protesters.

Protests in Georgia

As a reminder, protests in Georgia began on November 28. The reason for this was the statement by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze that his government is rejecting negotiations on the country's accession to the European Union until 2028.

The pro-Russian official explained that the country would be "ready" for such negotiations in 2028.

Security forces began dispersing the protests, using smoke bombs, tear gas, and water cannons.
