The Islamic Republic has begun to activate its modern centrifuges. This is allegedly a response to the decision of the International Atomic Energy Agency's Board of Governors regarding the country's peaceful nuclear program, says the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad-Bagher Qalibaf.

In response to the anti-Tehran resolution of the IAEA Board of Governors, Iran has begun activating its latest centrifuges, Qalibaf said during an open session of parliament on Sunday.

He noted that the actions of the three European powers and the United States, which are “politically motivated and detrimental,” allegedly led to an unfair resolution on Iran's peaceful nuclear program.

The speaker emphasized that three European countries and the United States are using Iran's peaceful nuclear activities as a pretext to promote their illegal measures, undermining the credibility and independence of the IAEA and disrupting constructive cooperation between Iran and the agency.

He also noted that political maneuvers force countries to take necessary measures to ensure their national security.

He expressed hope that the agency and the heads of state who support it would oppose the anti-Iranian resolution, thereby putting an end to the hegemony of the United States and three European countries.

Soon after the adoption of the anti-Iranian resolution, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a joint statement criticizing the IAEA resolution against the country's peaceful nuclear program.

Meanwhile, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Office and International Organizations in Vienna said that the new resolution against the Islamic Republic does not take into account the IAEA's cooperation with Tehran.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board recently adopted a resolution demanding that Iran urgently improve its cooperation with the agency and submit a “comprehensive” report.

The document is supposed to push Tehran to new nuclear negotiations.
