Tavria front update: Near 400 Russians eliminated with captives taken

Over the past day, January 8, Ukrainian troops destroyed 21 units of Russian terrorists' equipment. In particular, 10 occupants were taken prisoner, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces.
Over the day, the enemy:
- launched 5 missile attacks;
- conducted 37 combat engagements;
- made 452 artillery attacks.
Avdiivka direction
Ukrainian troops repelled 3 Russian attacks near Avdiivka, Severne, and Tonenke and another 15 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
Maryinka direction
Ukrainian troops repelled 12 militant attacks in the areas of Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.
Shakhtarsk direction
The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions.
Zaporizhzhia direction
The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 7 Russian attacks south of Chervone, west of Verbove and north of Novoprokopivka.
Ukrainian military's achievements
The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 375 Russian occupants, and 10 more Russians surrendered. Also, 21 units of enemy equipment were destroyed, namely:
- 2 tanks;
- 5 armored personnel carriers;
- 1 artillery system;
- 1 anti-tank grenade launcher;
- 9 UAVs;
- 2 vehicles;
- 1 unit of special equipment.
Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, January 8, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated another 820 Russian occupants. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost 365,990 troops.
